Residence Assistants Awards 2021

Celebrating Outstanding Students working in Residence Life

The 3rd Annual CUBO RA Awards took place on 4 May 2021, during the two-day virtual CUBO Residence Life Conference.

Celebrating Outstanding Residence Assistants and Student Leaders

Residence Assistants (RAs) are students who work in university residences to develop a positive living and learning community. Also known as student leaders, student mentors and halls assistants among other titles, they work as part of a team that provides a vital social and support network for students new to university and independent living. Whether organising social activities and practical skills workshops, spotting potential mental health or drug issues, supporting health and safety and security in their residences, or simply providing a shoulder to cry on, they are an asset to their community and university.

Judges

The Awards are judged by an international panel:

This year has been a tough one for all of us working in residential life, but we’ve been lucky to have some outstanding RAs who have supported our programmes providing a true peer to peer support service. I’m incredibly proud of the winners who have totally gone above and beyond and I can’t wait to see where their careers take them – and that’s exactly why we do this job! It’s all about the students.

James Greenwood, Chair of CUBO Residence Life and Student Experience Group
