Campus and commercial services are vital to university and college life. Our members are responsible for the strategic and operational management of student residential accommodation and residence life programmes; catering, hospitality &retail; sport & physical activity; academic & commercial conferencing; events, including graduations; print, design & merchandising, soft facilities management, and various other services. They may run hotels, arts centres, nurseries and even the university’s digital services. By connecting, supporting and developing these professionals, CUBO helps to create excellent campus experiences for all.
The 2023 UUK/GuildHE Accommodation Code of Practice Review is underway, as we update and shape the Code’s future. Code members’ views have been sought on the Code as it is - whether it meets the evolving needs of institutions and students – as well as future development. The review considers all areas of The Code, from content to structure, effectiveness and language. There will be an online roundtable with members on the new Code in September, before it goes to the Governance Board and then for Parliamentary approval. The participation of members in the review has been invaluable.
In summer 2023 a review has been undertaken in order to refresh and update the relevance of the UUK/GuildHE Accommodation Code of Practice. In this round table, auditors will have the opportunity to discuss and gain deeper insight into the requirements of the legislation with regards to ongoing audit trails and reviews, the level of detail required and how to best present findings.
Hear from the Kinetic team about their new strategy, understand their company policy and ask your own questions of the Senior Leadership Team.
This meeting will include back to campus updates from member universities, an update on ScotGov activity and an update from CUBO.
All Scottish members involved in commercial and campus services are welcome. Please bring any issues you'd like to discuss in the group.
