David Berry, Head of Residences at Royal Holloway University of London, has been appointed as Chair of the CUBO Soft Facilities Management (Soft FM) Group.
David will lead the special interest group going forward, which will meet online quarterly.
“Soft FM teams have a significant role to play in meeting the challenges currently facing the higher education sector, so the support network provided by CUBO’s Soft FM group is more important than ever,” said David Berry, Head of Residences at Royal Holloway University of London ,“I look forward to bringing the experience I’ve gained in the last 30 years in the industry to help advance best practices and innovation within the CUBO community.”
The group is open to any CUBO members working or interested in the soft facilities management.
Meet David
David Berry is a seasoned HE facilities management professional with over three decades of experience in the industry. Currently serving as the Head of Residences at Royal Holloway, University of London, David is responsible for the strategic and operational management of student accommodation services. His role involves leading a dedicated team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that support the university strategy and to facilitate the students' to succeed academically and socially.
Prior to his current role, David was the Regional Director for the South East at UPP Residential Services Ltd, where he managed partnerships with multiple universities delivering the operation facilities management services.
David's career also includes work at the University of Southampton, SOAS, UCL and King’s College London predominantly in the management of student accommodation but also spanning postal services, security, and nursery services to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve financial targets.
As Chair of the Soft Facilities Management Group, David brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of leadership and innovation.
