CUBO Winter Conference to Focus on Insight-Led Strategy and Resilience in Campus Services

CUBO has announced that its 2025 Winter Conference will take place on 27–28 November 2025 at Aston University, Birmingham.

Under the title “Leading with Insight: Resilient Campus Services for a Changing Sector,” the conference will bring together professionals from across the UK higher education sector to examine strategies for navigating ongoing challenges through data-led decision-making and collaborative leadership.

The programme will address key issues affecting campus and commercial services, including changes in student behaviour, the impact of commuting student trends, and evolving expectations in the post-pandemic and post-BREXIT context.

Confirmed speakers include Mary Curnock-Cook CBE, Educationalist and former CEO of UCAS; Dan Smith, Managing Director at RESI Consultancy; Rody Vonk, Innovation Consultant; Andy Bass, Strategic Leadership Consultant; and Celia Gaze, CEO of The Wellbeing Farm.

The two-day event will feature sector case studies, leadership roundtables, and practical interactive workshops, with sessions focused on:

  • Student expectations and behavioural trends
  • The latest insights into commuting students
  • Procurement, staffing and sustainability models
  • Cross-institutional models for procurement, staffing and sustainability
  • Innovation labs: real examples from halls, hospitality and facilities

Open to representatives from all UK universities and colleges, the conference provides opportunities for sharing of best practice and peer-led learning. Special delegate rates are available for CUBO members.
